Microsoft Merchant Center supplies product listings and shopping ads on Bing and Copilot. It accepts files in Google’s XML format, and the Microsoft Shopping (Bing, Copilot) profile writes that format: RSS 2.0 with the g: namespace, one item per variant, with Google’s limits (ID 50 characters, title 150, description 5,000).

Before you start

  • A Microsoft Advertising account with access to Merchant Center.
  • A store in Merchant Center for your website, with the domain verified (unverified: the verification methods depend on your account).
  • Products with a vendor (brand) and, where they exist, barcodes.

1. Create the feed in Buinbu

  1. Open Export and choose Create feed.
  2. On Feed templates pick Microsoft Shopping (Bing, Copilot) (search for “Microsoft”, or Show all channels and Create).
  3. Under Feed name and market pick the Market (country) your Merchant Center store targets and keep Currency on that market’s currency. If the market’s currency differs from the one the channel needs, the run fails with Currency mismatch and the file is not updated.
  4. Under Product selection keep Leave gift cards out on and leave out-of-stock products in.
  5. Under Filters tick any saved filters, then set the Refresh frequency (plans) and choose Create feed.

2. Copy the feed URL

On the feed page, under Feed URL, choose Copy URL. The URL never changes and needs no username or password.

3. Add the feed in Merchant Center

  1. In Microsoft Advertising open Tools and then Merchant Center, and select your store (unverified).
  2. Create a feed and, as the input method, choose the option that downloads the file automatically from a URL (unverified label).
  3. Paste the URL from step 2 as the source URL and leave the user name and password empty.
  4. Choose a daily download schedule, at a time after your feed’s refresh, and save. Microsoft also offers weekly and monthly schedules (unverified).

Microsoft also offers to import products from Google Merchant Center. If you already send a Buinbu Google feed there, that import is an alternative to a second feed (unverified).

4. Wait for the first download and review

Microsoft reviews products before they are shown; review times are not documented here (unverified). In Buinbu the feed page reads “Last fetched: … · Microsoft” once Microsoft’s crawler has downloaded the file. Keep the feed refreshing: Microsoft stops publishing products from a file that is not updated for a long time (unverified: a 30-day expiry is mentioned in Microsoft’s help).
