A Meta catalog feeds Facebook and Instagram ads and shops. Meta accepts the Google Merchant Center format, so you can reuse your Google feed or create a dedicated Meta (Facebook & Instagram) feed that follows Meta’s own rules for availability, brand and condition.
Before you start
- A Commerce Manager catalog you can edit.
- Products with a brand; Meta requires
brandandconditionon every item.
1. Choose the feed in Buinbu
Two options:
- Reuse the Google feed. Nothing to do in Buinbu if you already have one (Add your feed to Google Merchant Center). Meta reads
g:-prefixed fields when you tell it the file is in Google format. - Dedicated Meta feed. Open Export, choose Create feed and pick Meta (Facebook & Instagram) on Feed templates. Pick the Market (country) of the catalog and keep Currency on that market’s currency; a mismatch makes the run fail with Currency mismatch. Keep Leave gift cards out on, tick filters if you need them, set the Refresh frequency and choose Create feed. The Meta profile writes
availabilityasin stock/out of stock(Meta accepts only these two), always writescondition, and leaves out products without a brand.
2. Copy the feed URL
On the feed page, under Feed URL, choose Copy URL. The file starts with the <?xml declaration Meta requires.
3. Add the feed in Commerce Manager
- In Commerce Manager open your catalog, then Data sources, and add a data feed with a scheduled upload.
- Paste the URL. When Commerce Manager asks which platform the file is formatted for, choose Google Merchant Center if you reuse the Google feed; for the Meta profile keep the default.
- Set the schedule to hourly or daily and keep the default replace mode: the file contains every product the feed keeps, and a product missing from the file is removed from the catalog.
4. Wait for the first upload and review
The first upload runs at once. Open the data source’s issues list and fix errors before warnings. Meta’s review of shop items can take longer than the upload itself. In Buinbu the feed page reads “Last fetched: … · Meta” once Meta has downloaded the file.

Common problems
| Issue | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Products missing in the catalog | Left out in Buinbu as No brand | Fill the vendor in Shopify, or set it with a Brand field template |
| Invalid availability value | Google feed reused without choosing the Google format | Re-add the data source and pick “Google Merchant Center” as the format, or switch to a Meta feed |
| Image too small or too large | Under 500×500 px or over 8 MB | Replace the image |
| Items disappeared after an upload | Filter narrowed or products set to draft | Check the filters on the feed; the replace upload mirrors the file |
More cases: Feed rejected or products flagged.
